I was sad to read about the accident that occurred on Saturday which a mother and her two sons were flung out of the car on the North South Highway after a holiday in Malacca (reported on STOMP). The mother and her elder son died while the younger son was injured, saved by her mother's hug.
The deaths could have been prevented if all the back seat passengers had worn their safety belts. It takes just a few seconds to buckle up. The safety belt may be uncomfortable at times but it essentially keeps you intact when an accident occurs and the vehicle goes from 110km/h to an abrupt halt. You do not want any human cannon balls fired from your car. As a responsible driver, you should ensure that all passengers wear their seat belts.
Always Buckle Up to Stay Alive!
